GocheGanas Nature Reserve & Wellness Village
Located in Namibia, GocheGanas reserve is situated a mere 25 minutes from the capital city, Windhoek and about 50 minutes‘ drive from the International airport.
In 2014 the resort celebrates its 10th birthday and features 16 totally private luxury chalets set on a large reserve of 6000 ha.
The reserve itself is home to more than 25 different wildlife species and is renowned as having more frequent sightings of cheetahs than most others. They even have a very successful wildlife welfare program that has seen some of their rhinos resettled to other nature reserves.
Each of the resorts chalets are spacious and boast a thatched roof and a private timber deck offering uninterrupted and spectacular views over the surrounding Reserve.
Children of all ages are welcome and a private family suite consisting of two separate double bedrooms connected by a spacious terrace is also available. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and all chalets come equipped with air-conditioner, television, minibar and telephone.
The resorts Wellness Village provides a top of the range selection of wellness treatments, products and services. Facilities offered include, 11 treatment rooms with state of the art equipment such as a crystal bath, hydrotherapy bath, a Vichy shower, as well as a heated indoor pool, a cave sauna in a cathedral like masonry vault, a well-equipped fitness gym and fruit and juice bar.
Stargazing at its best
As Namibia has been named one of the three top stargazing destinations worldwide, during your stay you will be blessed with the most awesome night sky – a truly wonderful natural resource.
The resort even offers stargazing experiences and with zero light-pollution around you, the heavens will take on a whole new splendour, especially on a clear, moonless night. It will be an experience that you will never forget and one that will take your breath away. It is hard to believe your eyes when there appears to be nothing there, yet, when looking through the telescopes supplied amazing sights can be seen.
A sample day could include…
In the early morning hours experience a game drive in the nature reserve – these always offer new and exciting sightings and no game drive is ever the same. Afterwards enjoy an extensive & delicious breakfast when you return to the lodge.
Escape to the Wellness centre after breakfast, where you can enjoy one of the many treatments on offer or take a leisurely swim in the indoor swimming pool with its wonderful view over the nature reserve. To complete your spa experience, unwind in their relaxation area with some healthy Spa refreshments – a feast for your soul and senses.
Spend the afternoon on your private terrace catching up on that long awaited reading pleasure or just take in the splendour of the surrounding nature.
Later in the afternoon take a guided nature walk in the reserve where the resorts experienced Nature guides will impart all their extensive knowledge of Namibian fauna and flora.
Upon your return to the lodge your outdoor shower at your chalet offers the perfect energizing experience before you experience a traditional Gourmet evening in the Boma.
