Phuket With Children

A must do for parents and children is the ‘Batik’ painting class offered at Dusit Thani or the ‘Coloured Sands Candle Making’ offered at Banyan Tree.  Both activities are so much fun, yet totally relaxing and the bonus is you’ll have some great mementos to take home.

Children can even enjoy free golf at Laguna’s Golf Club when playing with a full-paying adult and Laguna Tours also offers free tours for kids on selected excursions (Splash Jungle Water Park, XTreme Adventure, Horseback riding and more.) with each adult ticket purchased.

Angsana offers over 400 luxuriously appointed rooms, lofts, suites and private residences, 7 dining and entertainment venues, a wonderful TreeHouse Kids’ Club and a spa. The Dusit Thani offers over 226 rooms and suites, various free water sport activities, a pitch and putt golf course and 6 restaurants. Both properties (and the other 5 in the resort) offer charge back facilities to guests, which means you can try any of the 30+ dining venues with the ease of paying just one account upon checkout.

EAT

La Trattoria at Dusit Thani specialises in Authentic Italian specialities and fresh seafood – even your fussiest eater will love it! During the Sumer Festival one child dines free with each paying adult at all hotels within Laguna.

DO

The various resorts offer loads of free family activities to keep everyone happy. From tennis, canoes and windsurfers to playing with the resident elephant, Lucky. For a small fee you can also go beach horse riding or take a 15, 25 or 30-minute elephant ride.

HOT TIP

To make your Baht’s go even further, inexpensive souvenirs, massages, manicures and pedicures can be purchased at the local markets along the beach – just don’t forget to barter as you can save anything from 10%-40% off the asking price. For an entirely unique perspective of Laguna, that is both relaxing and informative, hop aboard the free, guided ferry tour around the lagoon and the properties.

BEST TIME TO TRAVEL

Laguna would be perfect any time of the year but, if you are travelling with children, the Summer Family Festival held mid June to mid August each year at the Canal Shopping Village provides a Kids Fun Zone and Entertainment from 2pm each day. From 5pm until late there are more children’s activities and entertainment along with a beer tent with live sports on TV – just the place for mum and dad to chill with a cold drink.

DON’T MISS

For children: Every morning at breakfast Angsana’s resident 2-year-old elephant, Lucky pops in to meet and play with the children. The novelty of climbing on, cuddling and feeding Lucky will be a memory that will stay with the whole family. For mum and dad: The Dusit Thani Horizon Lounge, which offers not only cocktails and live music but, also stunning sunset views of the Andaman Ocean.
