Sydney Australia Hosts Asia On Your Doorstep Festival

Restaurants across Haymarket will be serving up delicious dishes and street food from Szechuan to Tokyo at the annual Asia On Your Doorstep festival.  The City of Sydney-backed festival, from 1-31 October, helps diners discover the secrets of top chefs, enjoy some of Chinatown's signature dishes and go in the draw to win a trip to Thailand.

More than 70 restaurants across Haymarket will create signature dishes for the festival using their five favourite and most interesting ingredients, all for $10-$20.

And by enjoying a meal at a restaurant participating in Asia On Your Doorstep, diners will be able to enter a competition to win a trip to Thailand. Every meal earns diners the right to another entry to the competition.

The prize includes three nights of luxury accommodation, cooking classes and sightseeing tours in the buzzing Thai capital Bangkok, three nights in picturesque Chiang Mai and return airfares with Thai Airways.

Other festival highlights will see MasterChef Australia winner and SBS TV chef, Adam Liaw demonstrate some of his favourite dishes at lunchtime from 10 – 13 October at Market City.

He will also judge an Asian cooking competition between TAFE students, with the winner taking home a $1,000 prize.
