What’s New at the Austrian MQ?

Thanks to innovative restaurants and world-class museums, the Museums Quartier has become a popular rendezvous spot for visitors and Viennese alike. Beyond amazing exhibitions, the MQ also holds spectacular events throughout the year:

Leopold Museum

With its enviable cache of Viennese art nouveau, the Vienna Workshop and the Expressionist period, no wonder the Leopold is the most visited museum in the MQ. The light-flooded cube of white shell limestone features the largest, most important Egon Schiele collection in the world as well as masterpieces by Gustav Klimt. Even the panoramic windows reveal works of art, with views of the city center, Maria Theresien-Platz and the Imperial Palace.

MQ Summer of Fashion

The MQ Summer of Fashion kicks off in June and concludes in September with the MQ Vienna Fashion Week. Exhibitions, fashion shows, dance performances, design markets, parties, workshops and exclusive tours weave together an experience that connects fashion to art. From September 11-15, MQ Vienna Fashion Week showcases more than 80 designers from all over the world and invites visitors to shop their collections.

Winter in the MQ

Come November, the MuseumsQuartier heats up. Six ice pavilions serving festive punch and video projections that bathe MQ façades in cinematic light transform the inner courtyard. Popular draws include the curling lane, the “Winter Race” of remote-controlled cars, and the WeihnachtsQuartier of designer ceramics, glass, fashion and jewelry for sale.  For more visit www.mqw.at
